Silicon carbide ceramic
Silicon carbide (SiC) is a ceramic high-performance material with excellent tribological properties and low weight at the same time. The good corrosion resistance as well as the excellent high temperature and chemical resistance should be emphasized. SiC is resistant to almost all organic and inorganic chemicals such as phosphoric, sulfuric, nitric or hydrochloric acid. The maximum operating temperature is 1.700°C.
In mechanical engineering and in the chemical industry, SiC has become indispensable as a corrosion and wear-resistant material in pumps, mechanical seals and bearings, etc. It is widely used in mining, steel industry, chemical industry, raw material extraction, mechanical sealing, sandblasting surface etc.
Typical applications are e.g.
- Lining of aluminum casting channels
- Lining of pulverized coal lines near burners (power plants, etc.)
- Nozzles
- Hydrocyclone Liners

- Protection against strong abrasive and impact wear under extreme wear and tear
- High temperature strength
- High hardness
- High thermal conductivity
- Corrosion resistance
- At high operating temperatures of up to 1.700 °C and extreme temperature changes (e.g. pipelines, coal dust lines, fan linings, melting channels, hydrocyclones, nozzles).
Forms of delivery
- Thickness 6 mm (depending on overall dimensions) Square/rectangular standard panels with wall thicknesses of 10–75 mm
- Molded parts with main dimensions from 6 mm to 1.200 mm,
- Pipes and pipe bend segments from NW 50 - NW 200 with a wall thickness of 20 mm

- Bonding with epoxy adhesive systems (temperature resistance up to 300°C)
- Laying in the mortar bed
