Corrosion protection coatings for water treatment /sewage treatment and the chemical industry

Material:

Polyurethane in various Shore hardnesses and RAL colors

Problem:

Highly corrosive substances when transported in pipeline systems, tanks and silos push conventional materials to their limits. Even many stainless steels cannot cope with the aggressive potential in the long term. In addition to aggressive materials in the chemical industry or seawater desalination plants, there are municipal wastewater treatment systems, with solid and highly abrasive suspended materials, which can significantly shorten the service life of the systems

Old service intervals:

Previous service life with stainless steel tubes approx. 2 years. The system is shut down for dismantling and replacing the lines.

Alternative solution:

Polyurethane coating with appropriate Shore hardness. Achieved service life with a layer thickness of approx. 2mm, approx. 5 years. There is also the possibility of inexpensively “filling” the worn areas with polyurethane, provided that repairs are carried out in a timely manner and the polyurethane coating has not been completely removed down to the metal.

Advantages

Longer lifespan of sensitive system areas

Minimization of system downtimes

Reduction in service and operating costs
